Smart thinking.

With our holiday to the States fast approaching - I have decided I need to loose some weight (especially if the plane is to take off from the airport).

So whilst purchasing some new shirts Wendy suggests some vertical striped choices - as she says they are slimming.

Diet sorted.

Can I go now?

I get in from work and attempt to get Kaydance to say hello Daddy - she is too interested in playing so I walk off to the kitchen saying ‘okay if you want to be rude’.

With that Kaydance follows me to the kitchen and shouts hello Daddy - we then have a conversation about what KD has done during the morning - which KD cuts short with the question ‘Can I go now?’.

Kaydance - trying in vein to do a Roly Poly

After a successful Roly Poly - KD struggles with another.

In the background is Wendy and I, both trying to give advice and assistance but, also along with Darwin, laughing. KD’s acting skills are improving daily as you will see at the end of the movie with a smile and a bounce off down the room.

This was filmed on the Flip Ultra - and even in the YouTube ‘normal quality’ mode - it is still not bad for a point and shoot camcorder.

I originally purchased a pen with built in camera and audio - which turned out to be just this side of useless, purchased from Maplins. I took it back and they exchanged it for the Flip Ultra - which is significantly better.

It has a USB connector, TV out (with cable included) and came with a wrist strap and pouch. With 2GB of internal memory it is good for upto 60 mins shooting time.

It is ideal for wanting to catch quick video - especially if you have children or pets.

Bounce Tigger Bounce

Kaydance a fan of Pooh and Tigger asked a few weeks ago if she could dress like Tigger. After some searching round we found an outfit in the Disney Store in Kingston. The outfit was jimjams as opposed to a dress up outfit - but Kaydance was extremely happy and introduced it to Darwin on its second outing.

Darwin meets Tigger

We have not as yet bought a present for Kaydance to say welcome to the world - even though she will be THREE in March. One item that we are looking at, as a possible option, is a first edition book from the Winnie the Pooh range of stories. We would like her to have something that will stay with her as she grows up. Choosing the right book and trusting that it is authentic is our current dilemma with this particular gift choice. Especially as Ebay seems to have the best range of books.

We continue to look.

Xmas Day 2008

Kaydance’s 3rd Christmas but she is not quite at the age to fully appreciate what it is all about ( from a child’s perspective ). Although after saying that she does seem excited by the whole event. Apparently she saw Father Xmas last night on his sleigh with Rudolf.

Last year it took Kaydance 4 days to open all her presents, today after opening 3 presents she said she did not want to open anymore - and proceeded to play with the ones she had opened. As the day progressed she would ask if she could open another present and of course she did. And as a typical child does at stages the packaging was more appealing than the presents.

Kaydance Packaged

By the end of the day she was flagging but still refused to take her dress off - to get ready for bed. After some persuading by Mummy and a bottle of milk - she was in her jimjams and closing her eyes on the day. She still has a plethera of presents to open, starting first thing Boxing Day. I may miss the first few as a late night for me usually means a late morning exit from bed.
